Learning is easier when it’s fun and you have excellent and passionate teachers. That’s why all of our staff are experts in their field. We bring over 20 years of experience in conducting choirs and our well paced rehearsals will have everyone singing and learning in no time.
Building Choirs founder Bronwen Low (pictured) has decades of experience teaching music to children and youth in Orff and Singing programs across the TDSB. She is also the founder and artistic director of the Toronto Beaches Children’s and Youth Choruss (TBCYC). Open and welcoming to all, the choir offers a high quality musical experience which is fun! In addition to performances throughout Toronto, the TBCYC has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
First Rate Rehearsals
Whether you are a classroom teacher or music educator yourself, looking for assistance in building a choir in your classroom or school, we have a program for you. We are happy to lead the rehearsals completely or aid you in the process. We will meet with you to determine your goals for your choir whether it be for a specific event or a long term initiative. We will discuss repertoire options from our extensive music library and musical knowledge to make sure that we have just the right, culturally relevant songs for your group. We will determine the level of difficulty for your group from basic to advanced. We will provide all the materials you need from music folders and pencils to artistic staff and an accompanist. We can suggest possible performance options with you both live and virtual. We come to you wherever you are! All we need is a space with chairs set up and we are ready to go.

Covid Protocols
We are of course living in a very different world right now where we have to make sure that all safety protocols are being met. The space in which we rehearse must have ample room for the students and good air ventilation or hepa filters. Masks are still strongly recommended at this time when singing. All of our staff are triple vaccinated and would do a rapid test before entering the school as extra precaution if requested. Weather dependent, we could sing outside.
In schools, we recognize that we may have to split the rehearsal time to accommodate different classes or grades. For example, it could be a Grade 3 choir or a grade 5/6 choir depending on the class make-up in any given school.
